Mentorship
How to Find a Mentor in High School or College
Where to look, what to say, and how to build a respectful mentoring relationship.

Mentorship at GirlFuture is simple: one girl, one professional, one conversation a month for six months. Mentors don't need to have all the answers. They need to show up, be honest about their own path, and open one or two doors.
Scholars are matched automatically. Any girl ages 14–22 can also request a mentor, and we match as many as our volunteer network allows.
For girls 14–22
Free. Someone in the field you love, once a month for six months.
For professionals
One hour a month. Share your path, answer her questions, open one door.
We pair girls with mentors by field and interests, and always through a short intro call with a GirlFuture volunteer.
Six 30–45 minute video conversations. We send a light agenda for each one so nobody stares at a blank screen.
Each mentor commits to at least one introduction, shadow day, or review of something the girl has made.
Mentors are screened and trained. Conversations with girls under 18 happen on group-visible platforms, with a guardian informed.
