Our mission
GirlFuture protects the future of girls and grows their share of economic life by investing in them today — through mentorship, connections, funding, and exposure to role models.
We're an early-stage, volunteer-powered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. We start small on purpose: a handful of scholarships, a growing mentor network, and a library of free resources. Then we measure what helps and do more of it.
What we believe
- Start early
- The cheapest, highest-return moment to invest is before a girl talks herself out of something.
- Money plus people
- A grant without a mentor is a transaction. A mentor without resources is advice. We bring both.
- Every field counts
- We fund STEM and non-STEM paths. The economy needs engineers and founders and storytellers.
- Earn trust in the open
- We publish how we choose scholars, where money goes, and what we learn.
Meet the founder
Amita Paul is a product leader who has spent her career building technology products used by millions of people and businesses. She led product for LinkedIn's advertiser experience platforms, where she launched objective-based advertising and worked on generative-AI tools for advertisers. Before that she built advertising, content, and influencer products at Flipboard and Mode Media.
She holds an MBA in Marketing & Strategy from XLRI Jamshedpur and a master's degree in computer science, and today she advises and mentors startups and supports nonprofits working on women's empowerment and grassroots education.
Amita started GirlFuture because she has seen, from both sides of the hiring table, how much of a career is decided by who is in your corner early on — and how rarely girls get the same sponsorship, introductions, and small bets that boys get by default. GirlFuture is her way of making those bets on purpose.
